Valentine's Day Presentation

Can be used with readers and non-readers.

Cut out large multi-colored posters into the shape of those famous Valentine's heart candies. 

Rather than writing the traditional sentiments such as, "Kiss Me," or "My Baby," write a Fruit of the Spirit attribute on each poster, i.e. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, or self-control. 

The non-readers hold up the cards, while the readers call out Galatians 5:22-23.

You can also have an older child or children recite a Bible verse to accompany the attribute. The verses could also be memorized ahead of time by individuals, classes, or small groups, and then recited for the presentation. For example: 

LOVE: Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love (1 John 4:8). 

JOY: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him . . . (Romans 15:13). 

PEACE: Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts . . . (Colossians 3:15).

PATIENCE: As God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience (Colossians 3:12).

KINDNESS: I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness (Jeremiah 31:3).

GOODNESS: How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you (Psalm 31:19). 

FAITHFULNESS: For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations (Psalm 100:5). 

GENTLENESS: Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15).

SELF-CONTROL: Like a city whose walls are broken down is a [person] who lacks self-control (Proverbs 25:28). 

End your program by singing the Fruit of the Spirit song. (You can find various renditions on Youtube.) Have the non-readers stand shoulder to shoulder across the front of the stage, then hold up their poster when the matching fruit attribute is sung.

Optional: distribute Valentine Heart candies to your audience as they leave.
