Theme: God sees us and still loves us.

When I was a kid, some of the coolest heroes on TV were the Lone Ranger, Zorro, and Batman. Do you know what they all had in common?

They wore eye masks while fighting crime so no one would recognize them or hurt the people they loved.

But in real life, it’s usually not the good guys wearing masks. Most of the time, it’s the bad guys who cover their faces so the police can’t catch them.

And masks aren’t just for hiding. People wear them for all kinds of reasons: costume parties, Trick or Treating, theater actors, doctor visits, hospitals, and who could ever forget—during pandemics!

But there’s one thing masks can’t do: they can’t hide us from God.

The Bible says, “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, observing the evil and the good” (Proverbs 15:3). When we do something wrong, knowing that God sees us might feel scary! But it’s also good news, because when we turn away from our sin and follow Jesus, God offers us love and forgiveness. And isn’t it encouraging that he also sees the good things we do, even when no one else notices?

The Bible says:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him” John 3:16–17.

And when we disobey God, we must confess our sins, which means admit we've done wrong; because God is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness—all those bad things we've done (1 John 1:9).

Today we’re going to decorate eye masks to remind us that whether we’re making good choices or disobeying God's Commandments, we don’t ever need to hide from God.
