Days of Thanksgiving
Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! 2 Cor. 9:15 (NIV)
November is upon us and it's a mad dash to Christmas, so it seems, with Thanksgiving squeezed between and almost forgotten. (This is most evident in stores where Halloween and Christmas
decorations stock the shelves at the same time. Ug!)
However, I think it's rather appropriate that November is the month before we celebrate the birth of God's
indescribable gift---his beloved Son! Now this is something for which we can be thankful!
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

What better way to begin the celebration of Christmas than with hearts of gratitude and thanksgiving expressed during the entire month of November!

2) Why Celebrate
Thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving Day is the day we set aside as a nation to thank God for his
goodness towards us.
 What
are some things you are thankful for? (Receive answers.)
What are some ways we can say, "Thank you" to God? (Receive
answers.)
Have you ever begged your parents for something, and when they finally gave
it to you, you forgot to thank them? Today I want to read a story from the
Bible that speaks about such a thing.
"Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between
Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy
met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice,
"Jesus, Master, have pity on us!" When he saw them, he said,
"Go, show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were
cleansed. One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in
a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus' feet and . . .

3) The X-Factor Skit
It's easy, and maybe even common, to miss the "X-Factor" in Christmas today, but this skit reminds us what's important during the hustle and bustle of the "holidays."

4) Ewe Said It!
A Christmas skit for children. The setting is of a manger on
a hill behind the Inn in Bethlehem where Jesus was born. It is the month of December and the nights are getting colder. The Spring Lambs are now several months old and are huddled inside the manger anxiously awaiting
Ewe, who is coming to share the legend of the Good Shepherd with them. This rite of passage is the custom of the flock for Spring Lambs, before they become full members of the flock.
