Act 1: The Creation Story
Narrator:
In the very beginning, there was nothing. No sun, no moon, no animals—only darkness. But
then . . .
God: (firm but loving voice)
Let there be light!
Light: (enters with big energy or a flashlight prop)
Ta-da! I’m light! Bright and shiny!
Narrator:
And God saw that the light was good. He separated the light from the darkness.
God:
I’ll call the light “Day” and the darkness “Night.” That was the first day.
Everyone cheers: “Day One—Done!”
Narrator:
On the second day…
God:
Let there be a space between the waters!
Sky: (waves blue streamers or holds paper clouds)
Whoosh! I’m the sky, stretching way up high!
Narrator:
And God called the space above the waters, "Sky." That was the second day.
Everyone cheers: "Day Two—Woohoo!”
Narrator:
On the third day…
God:
Let the waters gather, and let dry ground appear. I call the ground
"Land" and the waters "Oceans."
Land: (pretends to rise up)
I’m the land! Aren't I grand?!
Plants: (walk in wearing and/or carrying props)
We’re trees, flowers, fruits, and veggies!
Ocean: (walking in waving)
And I'm the sea, look at me!
Narrator:
And God saw that it was good.
Everyone cheers: “Day Three—Yippee!”
Narrator:
On the fourth day…
God:
Let there be lights in the sky to separate day from night.
Sun: (dances in)
I light up the day!
Moon: (glides in gracefully)
I glow in the dark!
Stars: (twirls with sparkly stars)
Twinkle time!
Everyone cheers: "Day Four—Let’s Roar!”
Narrator:
On the fifth day…
God:
Let the seas be filled with living creatures, and let birds fly in the sky; now
go forth and multiply!
Fish: (wiggle and swim around)
Swish! Swish! We’re fish!
Birds: (flying motion with "wing" arms)
Tweet tweet! This is sweet!
Everyone cheers: “Day Five—High Five!”
Narrator:
On the sixth day…
God:
Let the land be filled with animals—and let’s make people in our image!
Animals: (each acts out their sound/movement)
Moo! Roar! Bark! Neigh!
Adam and Eve: (walk in amazed, behind bush prop)
Wow! Look at this beautiful world!
God:
Take care of it all. This is your home.
Everyone cheers: “Day Six—Fantastic Fix!”
Narrator:
And on the seventh day, God quit creating.
God:
It is very good.
Everyone cheers:
And that’s how God made everything!
Narrator:
From nothing to everything—God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh. Isn’t that amazing?
Everyone:
YES! (excitedly) . . . (then sadly) but there's more to this story.
Act 2: The Garden Choice
Narrator:
In the beginning, God made a perfect garden called Eden. It was full of trees, animals, rivers, and everything good!
God:
Adam, Eve—you may eat from any tree in the garden, except one. Do not eat from the
Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. If you do, you will surely die.
Adam:
Okay, God! There’s so much food here—we won’t even go near that one.
Eve:
We love everything you made!
Narrator:
But one day, a sneaky serpent came along . . .
Serpent: (hissing voice-exaggerate "S" sound)
Did God really sssssay you can’t eat from any tree?
Eve:
No, we can eat from all the trees—except that one. If we do, we’ll die.
Serpent: (sneaky)
You won’t die—Ssss. God doessssn’t want you to be like Him—knowing good and
evil—Ssss.
Narrator:
Eve looked at the fruit. It looked yummy. She picked it and took a bite.
Eve:
Mmm. . . Adam, try it, it's good!
Adam: (hesitates, then eats)
Well okay.
Narrator:
Then suddenly—they felt different. They knew they had disobeyed God. They felt
ashamed.
Adam: (looking down)
Eve, we’re not wearing anything!
Eve: (looks down)
Yikes! Quick! Let’s hide!
Narrator:
They tried to hide from God—but of course, you can’t hide from Him.
God: (calling gently)
Adam, where are you?
Adam:
We were afraid, so we hid.
God:
Did you eat from the tree I told you not to?
Adam: (points at Eve)
She gave it to me!
Eve: (points at serpent)
The serpent tricked me!
God:
Because you disobeyed, life will be hard now. But I still love you. I will one day send a Savior to crush the serpent.
Narrator:
God made clothes for Adam and Eve and sent them out of the garden. But He never stopped loving them.
Angel: (blocking the garden)
The way to the tree is now protected.
All together:
Even when we mess up, God has a rescue plan!
Narrator:
The Bible says, "The payment for sin is death, but the gift that God freely gives is everlasting life found in Christ Jesus our Lord" Romans 6:23.
